The El Monte Historical Society

I mentioned in the previous post about the El Monte Historical Society. From my knowledge, it consists of like-minded citizens from the community who work towards the advancement and preservation of the history of El Monte.

This is written in the brochure:

"The El Monte Historical Society was formed July 8, 1958 to encourage and promote the study of history in its relation to the population and development of El Monte, California and surrounding San Gabriel Valley; to collect, classify, publish and disseminate historicla information, data and facts relating to such areas....."

For more information you can call the Museum at: (626) 580-2232 or (626) 444-3813 or the El Monte City Hall at (626) 580-2001.

I know that the group recently held an afternoon tea last Sunday at the Museum, which we missed :-( Nonetheless, the Crystal C. Chavez Foundation looks forward to supporting the El Monte Historical Society in it's future endeavors.
