Scholarships available
Each year the Friends of the Walnut Library awards scholarships to deserving local graduating high school seniors to financially assist them in their continuing education.
This year's recipients will be chosen based on their completion and submission of the Friends' scholarship application.
Any June 2009 graduating high school senior who resides in the city of Walnut is eligible and may apply. Applications are available until Thursday at the Walnut Library, 21155 La Puente Road.
The application is also available online by e-mailing the request to: the.walnut.library@mac.com.
Recipients will be chosen by the Friends of the Walnut Library board and advisors, and winners will be notified and announced in June.
